Young Climate Activists Demand Leaders to Act on the Climate Crisis

Greta Thunberg inspired a generation of young people who formed on a Friday protest outside the Swedish Parliament. Greta, who is a young teenager, was tired of climate change and she skipped school to demand the government to take action.

The protest of young individuals campaigning for a healthier world has turned into the most prominent climate movement in history. The strike attracted more than a million individuals who took to the streets in more than 150 countries. In New York City alone, 250, 000 individuals took to the streets. Thunberg approached thousands of supporters and made her announcement.

According to a young climate activist, Caroline Merner, the youth-held strike felt like setting the tone for the future. Canada has been greatly affected by climate change and is warming faster than the average global warming on the planet.

According to Canadian youth, their perspectives are an excellent contribution to global demands for aggressive climate policies. They say that their voice in climate change matters and it cannot be ignored any longer.

The youths of Canada have witnessed the consequences of climate change and seen politicians break commitments to cut carbon emissions or attempt to undo current climate policies. This includes Ontario’s Radical Conservative government rejecting the emissions trading pricing structure.
